On Friday 10th December, AHS community celebrated festive season with a concert, organised by students and teachers. The programme included performances of Student Band, Staff Band and some unexpected Theatrical Vignette, appearing suddenly from the audience.
What a sugary joy did they have, preparing cakes and cookies for AHS Christmas Bake Sale! Banana bread, muffins, brownie, Belgian waffles, iced cookies… And all this to support the charges of Salvation Army and Fundacja Ocalenie.
Animal Welfare PDS to help dogs from Józefów’s shelter
An enthusiastic group of the 5th Form students completed their first stage of the Animal Welfare PDS project - just in time for the cold winter. The students wished to improve the conditions of dogs living in the Animal Shelter in Józefów.
Final of the Akademeia Seminar’s Human Rights series
On Thursday 2nd December we had a pleasure to host Dr Omer Fisher, who delivered an important lecture on Human rights, civil society and becoming human rights defender. Dr Fisher, who performs as Senior Human Rights Adviser at United Nations, shared with us his broad international experience in the field. Having had worked with a variety of organisations and communities, he provided our students with a very practical know-how.
We are extremely proud of recent accomplishments of the Akademeia Debate Team in the Polish Schools Debating Championships 2021.
This year there were 78 students and 22 schools competing at the tournament.
AHS has been represented by two teams, composed of participants from the Competitive Debating elective:

Year 13 Students Presenting their Extended Projects
Year 13 students brought a year's worth of work to an end on Wednesday 17th of November, presenting their Extended Projects to groups of staff and students. The audience were treated to talks on Economics, Medicine, Physics, Art, Biology, Law, History, Politics and many others.
This fall, we virtually welcomed seven prestigious universities from the United States to a panel discussion about choosing a pathway for university studies. Our students were eager to have their questions answered during the Q&A session, moderated by some of our talented 6th form students!
